TIL: calendars, days-off & communities
Summer used to be the period when I let myself loose.
When I would socialize and have a good time outside every single day.
The great weather, the party vibes in every corner of Greece, and the music Summer hits all made me put my business aside and just create memories worth sharing and remembering.
I’m not really sure what happened, but over the last two years, things just changed.
For the second year in a row, I’m working even harder than I used to during the rest of the year.
I’m going to the beach ten times less than I used to.
I’m partying also ten (actually closer to thirty) times less than I used to.
Is it because six of my childhood friends are working abroad during the summer?
Is it because I’m becoming more and more of a workaholic?
Is it because I’m working on my business in the mornings and have all my calls during the evenings?
I don’t really know.
What I do know is that there’s no use in being too hard on ourselves.
What I do know is that life comes and goes in phases.
On the one hand, we live life one moment at a time. On the other hand, we owe it to ourselves to follow what we think is best for us and not what society has labeled as good.
A friendly reminder to all the people who are putting in the work this week: if taking no days off is the phase that you want to be in, so be it.

INFLUENCER GROWTH PROGRAM
Sometimes growing or relaunching your membership program requires no days off.
And that’s okay.
You can find here some of the insights I’m gathering as I’m having dozens of calls with influencers every single week.
THINGS I’VE LEARNED
1.
The origins of clinking glasses
Cheering glasses originated in medieval days when wine was sometimes spiked with poison as the sediment concealed it well.
If a host wanted to prove that the wine wasn’t poisoned, he would pour part of the guest’s wine into his glass and drink it first.
If the guest trusted his host, he would just clink glasses when the host offered his glass for a sample.
Hence the clinking of glasses has become a sign of trust, honesty and toast to good health.
2.
Young men want to have children more than young women do.
A brand new Pew Research Poll looked at 18-34 year olds.
51% of young adults who are not parents say they would like to have children one day.
30% say they’re not sure.
18% say they don’t want to have children.
Breaking it down by sex; 57% of young men say they want children one day.
Whereas only 45% of young women say the same.
GROW YOUR INFLUENCE
Let’s talk about an alternative way to create content.
I only talk about things I’ve tested myself to bring a nuanced perspective into your lives, but today I want to do something different.
Something I haven’t tested but see so much potential in is the following.
What many entrepreneurs and coaches do successfully is host a weekly session in an existing community.
(If you’re looking for a place full of interesting digital communities, Skool and Witi are great places to find a new digital spot to hang around.)
Given the fact that you have found a subject you are excited about and knowledgeable in, you might want to consider talking to the admin of the community to get a weekly spot.
They get a person to add value to their community.
You get to meet cool people and create a real impact around the things you are practicing every day.
Why is this a great way to grow your influence?
Because you can find new partners, friends, clients, and investors, and create goodwill with people around the world.
What’s even more interesting is that you can record the sessions and redistribute them on social media.
A single session can give you one long-form piece of content and ten IG reels/YouTube shorts/TikTok videos.
to your growth and influence,
