TIL: strategy, empires & Summer

“Evil: the same old thing.
No matter what happens, keep this in mind: It’s the same old thing, from one end of the world to the other. It fills the history books, ancient and modern, and the cities, and the houses too. Nothing new at all.
Familiar, transient.”
– Marcus Aurelius

Are social media platforms evil?

For some people, social media has been worse than evil.

For others, it has been a medium to manifest a better version of their reality.

This world comes with many dangers, and just like anything that can help you relax, social media can quickly ruin your day-to-day life.

What stands between the evil and the life-changing version?

A strategic plan.

A simplified version can be to leave your phone 6 feet away when you’re doing deep work and have at least one specific goal in mind for content distribution daily.

Regardless if you run ads or create content to grow your business putting some limitations to keep the “evil” away is a good practice.

THINGS I’VE LEARNED

1.
Emotional vs Physical

Emotional habits can be just as harmful as physical ones.

If I had read this sentence a month ago, I wouldn’t have understood it, but lately,

I’ve been putting more energy and time into improving my overall health.

One of the reasons I’m motivated to do better is that I’ve gradually come to realize how many misconceptions are pushed by Western medicine.

There can’t be monetization without growth, and there can’t be growth without health.

How can you focus on serving your followers if your body isn’t serving you?

How will you turn your followers into paychecks if you can’t concentrate deeply enough to develop a solid plan?

Well, these reasons have led me to fall in love with a new community that’s all about the 4 pillars to reverse engineer illness, heal inflammation, and ignite your life force energy.

Communities like these used to cost multiple hundreds of dollars per month but you can join an incredible one for free here.

2.
What was the longest Empire that ever existed?

I recently read a wonderful book that I recommend to everyone, regardless of age.

“Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius got me interested in digging a little deeper into the historical facts and the sequence of events in the Mediterranean area.

I knew the Roman Empire had a significant impact on history, but I didn’t realize that, counting both its Western and Eastern halves, it lasted for 1,480 years.

It blew my mind.

For one and a half millennia, most of the civilizations of the Mediterranean lived under the banner of the empire.

GROW YOUR INFLUENCE

On paper, summer ends with the autumnal equinox.

For most people, the end of August signals the beginning of a new season.

There’s no better time to set some new snowballing goals.

Albert Einstein said it long before any of us were born:

“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn’t, pays it.”

By setting one new daily or weekly goal that compounds over time, you take advantage of the eighth wonder of the world.

Whatever this activity might be, pick one, and stick to it for the next three months.

The impact this one simple decision can have will change the way you view life.

Here are some examples for a bit of inspo.

Read 10 pages a day, Exercise for 20 minutes daily, Save $10 a day, Practice a skill for 15 minutes daily, Reach out to one person per week, Write for 10 minutes every morning, Meditate for 5 minutes daily, Limit social media to 30 minutes a day.
